After attending Marietta College, Jeff formed his own mortgage banking company, Morris Company Incorporated, in 1980. In 1984 Morris, Smith & Feyh, Incorporated was formed and since then Jeff has been directly involved in the placement of more than $6.0 billion of debt for all classes of commercial real estate properties. Since 2008 he has been instrumental in seeing Morris, Smith & Feyh double in size by diversifying its business lines to provide financing for all types of commercial and investment real estate properties located throughout the continental United States. Today, the company has been renamed MSF Real Estate Capital and Jeff oversees all aspects of MSF’s loan origination process, including the establishment of more than a dozen mortgage correspondent relationships and growth of a loan servicing portfolio that is nearly $1 billion. Jeff is also the President of JRM Equities, Inc., and numerous affiliated or related entities that are actively engaged in the purchase or construction of institutional grade multifamily, retail and office properties located in Ohio, Indiana and Florida. Through JRM, Jeff has been involved in the acquisition or construction of more than $250 million of real estate assets since 1994 and today has an aggregate fair market value in excess of $350 million. Jeff serves as a lead investor and managing member in all of these transactions. Additionally, he is a founder and principal shareholder of Horizons Asset Management, LLC, a large property and asset management firm headquartered in Columbus, Ohio

Jeff has been married since 1980 and is the father of 4 children. He has been a dedicated long distance runner and cyclist and has routinely been involved in many charitable causes. He resides in Lexington, Ohio.

Diana has more than thirty years of experience in accounting and commercial real estate fields. She obtained a B.S. degree in Accounting from The Ohio State University in 1978 and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive). Diana began her career as an auditor with KPMG in San Francisco, California where she specialized in banking and commercial real estate. After five years in public accounting, Diana joined Hewlett Packard in Palo Alto, California where she was involved in various areas of corporate accounting for three years. In 1991, Diana joined MSF Real Estate Capital as Controller. A few years after joining the Company she was promoted to Chief Financial Officer where she became responsible for all financial aspects of MSF Real Estate Capital and related entities. For the past nine years, she has been responsible for overseeing the Servicing Department.

During Diana’s tenure in this area she developed a strong system of internal controls to assure both the accuracy and security of MSF Real Estate Capital ’s mortgage loan portfolio. This was accomplished through the implementation of Synergy, a loan servicing software; the utilization of various online banking products and services; and the automation of in-house procedures.

Diana continually reviews processes and procedures in order to ensure the servicing department is operating efficiently as well as providing accurate and timely information to both our borrowers and lenders.

Chad is a Commercial Real Estate professional with more than 18 years of experience in a variety of roles primarily related to commercial real estate finance and ownership. In 2010, Chad joined MSF as Assistant Vice President of Loan Originations where his responsibilities initially included supporting upper management on the origination of new lending opportunities. Prior to joining MSF, Chad was with Exel, Inc., as an asset/portfolio manager, where he managed 300 owned and/or leased industrial building in the continental USA. At Developers Diversified Realty in Cleveland, Ohio, Chad was on the project team that worked on a $2.2 billion acquisition of over 100 retail properties purchased from Benderson Development. In 2005 he returned to Columbus and joined Collateral Mortgage Capital where he participated in financing activities on industrial, office, retail and multifamily properties as a Real Estate Analysis/Assistant Loan Officer. Since graduating from College, Chad has also acquired, divested and managed his own portfolio of real estate.

Currently working as Senior Vice President with MSF, Chad specializes in real estate debt and equity placement. Chad annually assists his clients in securing well over $250 million dollars in debt and equity on multi-family, retail, industrial, office, mixed-use and hospitality property types. Chad is a resourceful team leader and problem solver with a history of improving processes, executing challenging transactions, and developing profitable relationships. Chad graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business with an emphasis in Finance and Real Estate. Chad furthered his education and received his graduate degree from University of Florida where he earned a Master’s Degree in Real Estate.

Scott joined MSF in 2014 and brings more than 30 years and nearly $3 billion of transactional experience financing commercial real estate assets as both a borrower and a capital provider. Most of Scott’s career has been focused on seniors housing and healthcare real estate finance. His current focus is healthcare real estate and senior housing space with emphasis on facilitating development and acquisition activities of a variety of national owners/investors. Prior to joining MSF Real Estate Capital, Scott was head of national production for CBRE FHA Lending and prior to that was Managing Director with Red Capital Group. He has also been employed by Ziegler Financing Corporation where he served as President and expanded the FHA healthcare platform. Prior to that, Scott was President of Lancaster Pollard Mortgage Company, where he managed a highly successful FHA-focused mortgage banking business. His early-career experience includes ten years with a national lodging chain where he was actually a client of MSF Real Estate Capital.

Scott is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance with emphasis on Real Estate. He has served on the Commercial Board of Governors of the Mortgage Bankers Association, is a past Chair of the Multifamily Steering Committee and has been active in a variety of working groups focused on seniors housing within that organization. When he is not helping clients with financing needs, Scott enjoys cycling, playing golf, travel and food.

A.J. has been employed with the company since 2010 as an intern, prior to graduation, which led to a full time position in 2012. A.J. graduated from Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration in Real Estate. His education taught him the basic skills of commercial real estate, including but not limited to valuation analysis, appraisal, market research, Argus modeling, spreadsheet modeling and development.During his tenure at MSF Real Estate Capital, A.J. has been involved in the underwriting role which has led to the placement of over $1.0 billion in commercial real estate loans, which has included every major property type, in all regions of the continental United States. Loan sizes have ranged from $1 million up to a $70 million and loan products have included permanent, construction, forward, joint venture, bridge and mezzanine.

Justin joined MSF in January of 2019 to specialize in real estate debt origination and equity placement while supporting the firm’s debt placement activities and asset management functions. Justin’s focus is in the multifamily, senior housing, and healthcare real estate sectors with an emphasis on facilitating acquisitions, development, and the recapitalization of existing assets.

Prior to joining MSF, Justin spent three years at a Columbus-based real estate investment firm. During his tenure, he facilitated the placement of more than $70,000,000 in equity for multifamily, student housing, hospitality and commercial office projects while also providing due diligence for an additional $100,000,000 of student housing acquisitions. His experience allows him to provide insight into all aspects of the transaction process from deal sourcing to asset disposition.

Justin is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Justin’s interest in real estate, particularly real estate financing, took shape during his time with the Cleveland Research Company, a sell-side equity research firm, where he was focused on the hospitality industry.

In his free time, Justin can be found at Cap City Diner with his fiancé, Paige, indulging in the world famous blue cheese potato chips or obsessing over his favorite sports teams.

Jarvis joined the MSF team in January of 2016 after spending the first five years of his career at Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company. Having graduated in 2010 from Miami University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science Jarvis intended to pursue a career in the legal field, but after experiencing professional life, opted to forgo additional schooling. Jarvis, having discovered a passion for real estate spent over a year preparing for a career change and ultimately found the ideal firm in MSF Real Estate Capital. Since joining the MSF team Jarvis has been involved in underwriting and crafting loan submission packages for hundreds of transactions having led to the successful placement of over $1.3 billion in commercial real estate loans. These loans have closed with a variety of capital sources and have included every major property type in all regions of the continental United States. Loan sizes have ranged from $375,000 to $150 million while loan product has included permanent debt, construction, forward commitment, joint venture, bridge and mezzanine structures.

Jarvis is actively involved in the local chapters of NAIOP and the ULI Young Leaders Group.

While not at MSF Jarvis enjoys eating Rotolo’s and Enrico’s pizza (“Columbus Style Pizza”), golfing, obsessing over fantasy football year-round and spending time with his family…currently consisting of his wife, Erin, and absolutely no dogs.

David L. Mathewson

Dave has more than twenty years of experience in the underwriting and analysis of commercial real estate loans. After receiving a B.S. degree in Computer Science from The Ohio State University in 1984, he continued on with education and received his MBA degree from The Ohio State University in 1987. Dave began his career as a commercial real estate loan underwriter with Ohio Financial, a Columbus based mortgage banking company. While employed there, he became the Senior Underwriter in the origination of loans while also assisting in loan servicing, including the administration of construction loans. He also developed a portfolio trading desk which bought and sold RTC controlled loan portfolios following the Savings and Loan collapse. For the past seventeen years, Dave has been employed with MSF Real Estate Capital  and is currently responsible for overseeing the Underwriting Department with direct involvement in the underwriting and analysis of originated loans. This has resulted in the development of outstanding relationships with a large portfolio of prominent developers and financial institutions, including life insurance companies, commercial banks, Wall Street based capital markets firms, pension funds and government agencies.

During his tenure, Dave has been directly involved in the underwriting and successful placement of over $2.0 billion in commercial real estate loans, which has included every major property type. Loan products have included permanent, construction, forward, joint venture, bridge and mezzanine loans. He has designed and implemented several internal computer software systems, including Argus, and has regularly attended mortgage banking classes and seminars.

Grant has been involved in real estate since high school where he helped manage his family’s commercial real estate portfolio in Western New York. He chose to pursue a career in real estate and attended The Ohio State University where he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration with focuses in both Real Estate and Economics in 2011. Grant then spent the first seven years of his real estate career working as a staff appraiser at a reputable Columbus-based appraisal firm. During his time as an appraiser, Grant was responsible in valuing hundreds of properties in Ohio and throughout the country. He was also involved in researching and writing market studies and feasibility studies in markets across the United States.

Grant joined MSF Real Estate Capital in 2017 to expand our underwriting team in support of our growth. His appraisal experience gives him unique qualifications to review third party appraisals and, most importantly, to actively identify and solve potential underwriting concerns before they arise. He also assists with the underwriting of investment opportunities and supports our asset management group with analysis and valuation issues. Grant is currently a registered appraisal assistant in the State of Ohio and is pursuing his general certified appraisal license and MAI designation.

Emily joined MSF Real Estate Capital, Inc. in 2005 as part of the Loan Servicing/Asset Management team.Prior to working at MSF, she worked in property management and attended Hondros College in 2000 for Real Estate. Emily has over 15 years of experience in real estate, accounting and property management.

She is from Westerville, Ohio and currently resides in Sunbury, Ohio. She has a daughter and enjoys watching her play soccer and basketball.

Laurie has over 22 years of experience in mortgage servicing. She graduated from Ohio State University in 1993 with a B.A. degree in Economics and began working in the cash management area of Chemical Mortgage Company’s residential servicing division. After the merger of Chemical and Chase Manhattan banks, she became part of the Chase investor reporting team thereafter achieving certification status in Freddie Mac reporting. Laurie joined MSF Real Estate Capital in 2001, making the transition from residential to commercial servicing. She is currently part of the MSF Loan Servicing/Asset Management team which handles all aspects of servicing with an emphasis on developing and maintaining relationships with borrowers and lenders.

Tina Fiero-Gwynn

Tina began her career at the Galbreath-Huff Companies, a Columbus-based commercial real estate developer with a large office and industrial building portfolio. Getting her start as the assistant to the president’s executive administrator, Tina later joined the property management team to support the day-to-day operations of the portfolio. She continued her career with T&R Properties, a Columbus apartment developer that constructed and managed more than 2,000 apartments within a five state region. In 1998 Tina joined MSF Real Estate Capital, where she initially assisted with underwriting loans and lender presentations. She later moved into the loan closing department and in 2013 was promoted to the position of Vice President – Closing, where she leads the closings of all commercial and investment projects for the company. In this role she has been an integral part of the team having financed over $6 billion of commercial real estate throughout the country. Tina seeks to be a true team member with all of MSF’s clients from engagement through closing. Always quality-driven, she continuously seeks ways to improve the efficiency and timeliness of closings for MSF’s borrowers and lenders. When she is not adding to her extensive experience in the office, you might find Tina playing golf or enjoying time with her husband and dog Buddy.

Craig Kirker

Craig is a real estate professional with over 20 years of experience in valuation, asset management, property management, project management, leasing and real estate analysis. Craig recently joined MSF as the Vice President of Asset Management. His primary responsibilities include maximizing property value and investment returns. Among other things, he focuses on finding the most consistent and highest sources of revenue, mitigating liability and risk while reducing expenditures when possible. Prior to joining MSF, Craig was with Netflix where he managed 1M square feet of industrial and offices space across the US. While at Netflix, Craig completed over 300 transactions, managed capital and building improvements projects of over $4M and was responsible for the operational real estate oversight and vendor management for all US locations. Prior that, Craig was the Manager of Global Real Estate for Sterling Commerce, an IBM company. In this role, Craig administered a real estate portfolio comprised of nearly 1 million square feet of office space across the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific and India. He negotiated all US and international leases from site selection to renewals, and provided real estate related budgets and financial forecasting for all US and international locations. Craig was also with Grub & Ellis (now Colliers International) where he third-party property managed nearly 2M square feet of office, industrial and retail properties in the Columbus suburban market. Craig has a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and has held an Ohio real estate license for 13 years.

Craig is originally from Xenia, OH (tornado survivor) and has lived in Worthington since 2003 with his wife and 3 children. He enjoys coaching youth sports and watching his children play baseball, basketball, soccer and football.

Connie joined the MSF Team in 2011 as an administrative assistant to the Servicing, Asset Management and Accounting Departments.

Prior to working at MSF, she was the billing manager for Wickertree Tennis Club. This experience enhanced her data entry and accounting skills as well as giving her a strong background with Excel spreadsheets.

She resides in Powell, Ohio with her husband and has 3 children. She is an avid tennis player.
